Twitter is the fastest way to get information into the market. If you haven't tried Twitter yet, give it a go. The great thing about Twitter is that you only have to read what you want to, as it just gives you the headlines. The information also comes to you, so you are only receiving information that you want to receive.

If you don't like the source - kill it, and it's instantly removed.

Twitter can be a great time saver to give you the information when you want it and how you want it.

We publish all of our Blog feeds to Twitter so that you can simply browse the headlines and only visit the page if you like what you see.

7. Focus of the month - Use Mind Maps To Do Work That Matters

Whether you use a summarized resume, a full blown, detailed curriculum vitae, or a simple slide presentation, you need to ensure that you present yourself to prospective employers, clients, or even potential financiers in the best possible way.

Seth Godin, in a recent blog post, asked the question: ‘Can I see your body of work?’

In other words, are you leaving a trail of what you have accomplished? He goes on to say that you should note down what you produce in some kind of log or find some other way to keep track.

Mind Maps are a great way to keep a record of what you have to accomplish in a structured, visually appealing format. This is the easy part.

The difficult part is whether you are producing work that is worthwhile tracking and sharing.

If not, you better start doing better work.

Use Mind Maps to explore your passions and plan what you would like to produce in the coming weeks, months and years. Then use the Mind Maps to keep a log of what you have achieved.

You could even start a blog, which could later become a full blown website. That’s how I started. You will soon realize that it’s not only about the money. (But the money will come).

I wrote an article on our website on how to increase your net worth by simply increasing your knowledge in your current field. Use this as motivation to improve yourself and produce better work.

Use Mind Maps to plan what you want to learn and then use them to track what you are learning and producing.

Once you have this, you can put together a means to share it with relevant people by choosing a medium that suits you. Some of the options are:

  • One on One sessions
  • Teaching
  • Public Speaking
  • Seminars
  • Workshops
  • Books (Ebooks or Physical Books)
  • Blogs
  • Website
  • Guest Posts
The important lesson though, is to produce work that matters. How you share it is up to you.

Until next time - Do Work That Matters...
