Tip of the Month - Basic Ordering Ideas

Basic Ordering Ideas are the Key to Mind Maps and using Mind Maps successfully. Basic Ordering Ideas were introduced by Barry Buzan, the brother of Tony Buzan, as stated in 'The Mind Map Book' by Tony and Barry Buzan.

Barry Buzan believes that it is the Basic Ordering Ideas that give Mind Maps their real power. So do I.

I also believe that it is the secret to learning in the Information Age that we are in. There is simply information overload.

We covered this topic extensively in two recent articles:

Basic Ordering Ideas and the Learning Process

Expanding Basic Ordering Ideas - The Birth of the MindMapTutor

As you will see from the above articles, sometimes just the Basic Ordering Ideas are not enough.
You need the Mind Map to guide you and help you remember with the Basic Ordering Ideas, but you also need to record detailed information.

This is well demonstrated in the Interactive MindMapTutor version of our Learning Management Program.

We would like to hear you comments on your experiences with Mind Mapping detailed information. So leave us a comment, or tell us your story.

Staying up to date

Besides our monthly Newsletter, we also provide you with an automatic update feature from our What's New page, where you can track changes as they are made.

You can subscribe to this page using RSS feeds. You will find RSS buttons for the major RSS engines at the bottom of the Left Hand Menu Bar. You could also click on the Help Question mark, if you want to know more about what RSS feeds are. This could be useful to you, whether you want to subscribe to us, or not. More and more websites now allow RSS subscriptions, so it may be a good idea for you to check it out.

Loving SBI!

We've also had so much success with SBI!, the supplier of our business engine that we wrote a MindMapTutor on what SBI! can do for you, if you want to start your own online business, or promote your hobby or passion online.

You can even try them out for a month without costing you anything, as they will give you a full refund. Until next month...
