1. Welcome

I can't believe that I am already writing our March Newsletter. The first two months just flew by for me. It just shows how we must use our time wisely and effectively.

We focus this month on using Key Words on your Mind Maps. Many swear by them and others curse them. What are your thoughts?

2. Products

Free OpenSource Mind Map Software (Xmind) has served us well and is still our preferred software, but as mentioned last month, iPad Mind Map Software is becoming a big contender, as you always have your iPad (Or any other tablet you prefer)with you.

So don't delay. Download Xmind today and start Mind Mapping!

You could also download the basic edition of iMindMap, which is also free. iMindMap is the official Mind Map Software endorsed by Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Mapping, and creates beautiful, organic, colourful Mind Maps. You could then explore his Mind Map Principles more easily and decide for yourself what you would like to use.

7. Focus of the month - Key Words on Mind Maps

I am focusing on Key Words this month and have just published an article on Key Words on our website, titled 'Key Words on Mind Maps - Friend or Foe?'

While Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Maps, insists on one Key Word per branch, most Mind Maps out there do not conform to this principle. This has resulted in a term 'Buzan Mind Maps', to differentiate Mind Maps based on his principles from the rest.

This opens up the door to what a Mind Map is, and what a Mind Map isn't.

As explained in my article, I struggle with always using one Key Word per branch and often break the rule. I has not stopped me from using Mind Maps and has actually made my Mind Maps more useful in many cases.

I would like to hear your opinion on the matter. Read the article and give us your feedback. You could use our Contact Form, or even publish your own story on our website.

Until next time - Think about those Key Words...
